DESCRIPTION:The Canterbury West Coast Wood Council 2024 Forestry Industry Awards are to be held on Friday 2nd August\, 5pm at the Te Pae Convention Centre in Christchurch. \nThis is an important night for CWCWC Members to celebrate the success and achievements of outstanding individuals and companies working in our industry. \nThis year there are 10 Awards Categories that cover the full supply chain: Business Innovation\, Forestry Excellence\, Harvesting Excellence\, Distribution Excellence\, Wood Processing Excellence\, Crew of the Year\, Emerging Talent of the Year\, Outstanding H&S\, Outstanding Environmental Management and Outstanding Contribution to the Forestry Industry.  \nTo be eligible for an award the individual\, company or crew must meet certain criteria\, see  https://cwcwc.co.nz/awards-home/award-categories/ for more information. \nNominations for these will Awards will be open from 1st April and close on the 7th June 2024. Nomination Forms will be available during these dates at  https://cwcwc.co.nz/awards-home/ Nominations can be made by your company\, your manager\, your colleague or you can self-nominate. \nJudging will commence from the 8th June by our expert judging panel: John Hawkins (Stoneyhurst Timber)\, Mark Grover (Former GM of Operations for Rayonier Matariki) and Dr Elizabeth Heeg (CE of the NZ FOA). This innovation led to strong partnerships with local sawmills and other bark producers as demand for this growing medium increased\, ultimately establishing it as the most trusted product among our nursery and commercial growing clients.\nWhile potting mix manufacturing remains at the core of our operations\, a growing demand from landscapers and home gardeners for both growing and decorative materials prompted a gradual expansion of our product range. Today\, our Pinus radiata-based growing media and bark products are distributed widely throughout the South Island.\nIn 2014\, Southern Horticultural Products rebranded as Intelligro\, marking a new chapter in our approach to delivering high-quality materials to the market. With the introduction of purpose-built equipment and the acquisition of a blower truck\, we enhanced our ability to repurpose wood waste into certified products. These materials are now approved for use in kindergartens\, schools\, and council playgrounds\, and are also suitable for applications in the biofuel sector.\nIntelligro looks forward to welcoming CWCWC members to our yard in October.
